Faculty Spotlight Podcast

During Spring 2021, fellow MEAM junior Adam Liang and I debuted our “Faculty Spotlight” podcast/video series, through Penn’s chapter of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). We talk to renowned Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mechanics faculty and explore their career paths, passions for teaching, and advice for students at Penn and beyond.

 

Dr. Dustyn Roberts

Dustyn Roberts is a Senior Lecturer in the Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mechanics department of the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences at The University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

 
 
 

Dr. Jordan Raney

Jordan Raney is an Assistant Professor in the Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mechanics department of the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences at The University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

 
 
 

Mr. Joe Valdez

Joe Valdez is an instrumentation technician in the Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mechanics department of the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences at The University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Joe helps students and faculty take advantage of the tools and instruments within the engineering school such as the Precision Machining Laboratory to build an immersive, hands-on learning environment.

 
 

Dr. Graham Wabiszewski

Graham Wabiszewski is a Senior Lecturer in the Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mechanics department of the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences at The University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Graham teaches various mechanical design and manufacturing courses, advises students, and leads the MEAM Senior Design Capstone Project. He has been responsible for much of the hands-on learning environment many MEAM students thrive in on campus.

 

Dr. Jennifer Lukes

Dr. Jennifer Lukes is a Professor in the Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mechanics department of the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences at The University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Dr Lukes’s professional interests include nanoscale engineering as well as heat and mass transfer, evidenced by her research and course offerings.

 

Mr. Sid Deliwala

Sid has been the Director of Lab Programs in the Electrical and Systems Engineering (ESE) Department for over two decades. His experience includes developing unique courses that encourage student engagement in their academic career, teaching undergraduates, and leading the ESE Senior Design Capstone Project.
